Home Care Services

Supporting older Australians to live safely, comfortably, and independently at home.

At Specific Care, we believe everyone deserves the choice to live safely and comfortably at home for as long as possible. Through the Australian Government’s Home Care Package program, older Australians can receive the right level of support to remain independent, connected, and confident in their own homes. Our role is to make that journey simple, personal, and tailored to your needs.

Home Care Packages are designed to provide flexible, ongoing support that grows with you. Instead of a one-size-fits-all service, your package is built around your lifestyle, your preferences, and your health requirements. Whether you need just a little extra help around the home or more complex care each day, we are here to support you.

There are four levels of Home Care Packages, and each level reflects the amount of support and funding available.

Level 1

Offers a small amount of help with basic tasks, perfect if you just need a little extra support at home.

Level 2

provides regular assistance for those with low care needs, such as personal care, meal preparation, or transport.

Level 3

is for people who need more frequent services, including daily personal care and some nursing support.

Level 4

delivers the highest level of care, with comprehensive support for complex health needs.

FAQ

Who can apply for a Home Care Package?

Home Care Packages are designed for older Australians who need extra support to remain living at home. Generally, you must be over 65 (or over 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and require ongoing help with everyday activities.

You can apply online through the My Aged Care website or by calling 1800 200 422. If you’d like help, Specific Care can guide you through the process and assist with the paperwork.

After you apply, you’ll meet with an assessor from the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). They’ll visit you at home, ask questions about your health, daily routines, and the support you need, and then decide whether you are eligible for a package and which level suits you.

No, applying for a Home Care Package is free. However, once you are receiving services, you may be asked to contribute a small fee based on your income assessment. We’ll explain this clearly before you start.

If you don’t yet have a package, we can guide you through the My Aged Care application and assessment process. We can also provide private services while you wait for your package to be approved.
